Who is cheek?
Our daughter—the oldest of our three—has been called “Cheek” since she was a toddler. Her hugs always meant pressing her cheek against ours, and the nickname stuck.
Cheek has always seen magic in the little things. To her, every Amazon box, scrap of paper, or gum wrapper is worth saving if it holds even the tiniest bit of meaning. What looks like clutter to us is treasure in her paper room of imagination.
Our kids are our world, and Cheek’s creative spirit became the heartbeat of this brand. Cheek’s Paper Room was born from her wonder, her hugs, and the joy of turning everyday moments into something special.
Our story
In 2020, my dining room looked more like an art studio gone wild—slime stuck to the ceiling, paint stains everywhere, and puddles of dirty paint water across the table. My daughter even tried to “clean up” with a stockpile of toilet paper scattered across the kitchen floor. As much as I loved their creativity, I didn’t love the waste, spills, and chaos.
I searched everywhere for a solution, but nothing existed. So I decided: if I can’t find it, I’ll make it.
Night after night, while rocking my baby boy to sleep, I sketched designs, tested materials, and vetted manufacturers until I created something safe, durable, and truly functional. After months of prototypes and the long process of filing patents, the Creator Mat was born—an all-in-one craft mat designed from a mother’s love.
What started as a way to bond with my kids quickly grew into something bigger. During the pandemic, families everywhere were craving connection. Our mats gave them a reason to put down screens, spark imagination, and create memories—without sacrificing the dining room table.
In 2021, we shipped our first 500 mats to Amazon, thinking they’d last months. Instead, they went viral on TikTok and Instagram, selling out in 48 hours. Thousands more sold within days, and since then, we’ve sold out multiple times.
Today, Cheek’s Paper Room continues with the same recipe that started it all: thoughtfulness, dedication, and love. While imitators have tried to copy our idea, our commitment to quality and creativity sets us apart. We’re endlessly grateful for every family who chooses the original and can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
